Why it matters
For a critical-infrastructure operator, a network outage is not an IT inconvenience; it is a supply problem. As more of the grid is monitored and controlled digitally, the network carries more of the risk, and resilience against both disruption and deliberate attack moves to the centre of the operating picture.
The partnership
To increase the resilience of these networks, the energy supplier EnBW announced a partnership with narrowin, the Swiss network and security company. After a first, successful pilot project with EnBW, the conviction went beyond collaboration: EnBW's subsidiary Enpulse decided to invest in narrowin.
The pilot and the investment came from the same place: a shared interest in making critical energy networks measurably harder to disrupt.
